Château Heitenried
A mystic castle, spacious estates, legends dating back to the 11th century – this is the world of noble «Château Heitenried» a legendary delicacy from the Heitenried cheese dairy.
Rolling hills, lush pastures rich in strong herbs, in the background an impressive mountain panorama with the majestic peaks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. On a hill stands the imposing Château Heitenried, at the foot the cheese dairy with the cheese cellars of Lustenberger + Dürst SA.
The fertile soils already blessed the early lords of the castle with prosperity and security. The time of the lords may have passed, the fertile soil has remained. Today over 60 local farmers bring their fresh milk twice a day to the dairy. Under the old crafts the legendary Château Heitenried is created, identified by the reddish smear-rind. A real treat, full in flavor, smooth in texture and noble on the palate.
